Centuries-old farmland in Spain is drying up, with about 20% already turned to desert. When I visited this old family farm in Madrid, I saw the changes first-hand.
These days they mostly keep gallinas (chickens), with only a small patch of crops. The reservoirs and fields that once sustained this farm have long dried out.
