Dare is about more than just taking street portraits. It’s about learning how to step into uncomfortable moments rather than avoid them. By approaching strangers, engaging with people and directing subjects with confidence, you can push past hesitation and fear and create beautiful portraits with honesty rather than distance. I was introduced to the concept of Dare whilst attending The Dare Workshop with Gary Lashmar, aka The Street Thief. An ongoing project to create some magic on the streets.
